It’s only four days – yes – FOUR – 4 (!) – days until Halloween. Have you purchased your child’s costume from the store yet? Waited until the last minute to do something? (Been there!) Choices are dwindling now. Have you thought that you’d really like to make a costume for your son or daughter, but don’t know how? All thumbs at sewing?
Well, worry no more! I am always delighted to see the creativity and ingenuity of a mom who’s truly wanting to do something special for her children. I found another example of this in an article on NPR’s website. Back in 1969, the mother of Melody Kramer of NPR made some terrific costumes for Melody and her brother, aged 4 and 3 respectively, and Neil Kramer snapped this terrific shot of the two of them.
Here are her instructions:
Bag of Jellybeans
1. Blow up multicolored balloons.
2. Make holes for your arms and legs in a clear plastic trash bag.
3. Put it on and stuff it with balloons. Voila! You’re a bag of jellybeans!
